10. HUGH3 MORRISON (Thomas2, Hugh1); born 26 August 1819; died 16 November 1883; married (first) in 1844 MARTHA MCGUIRE, born 22 November 1821; died 17 December 1851; buried in Old Tidioute Cemetery, Deerfield Township, Warren County;190 married (second) in 1853 JANE P. HOLEMAN, born 1827 in present–day Forest County; died 5 May 1897 in Pleasantville, Venango County; buried in Tidioute, Warren County. Jane (Holeman) Morrison’s father was Alexander Holeman.191

Hugh lived in the Tidioute area, Deerfield Township, Warren County, Pennsylvania.192 Hugh was a school director and road commissioner in Deerfield Township, Warren County.193 In 1870, Hugh was enumerated as a farmer.194

Adelia4 Morrison, born September 1846; died 1921; buried in Old Tidioute Cemetery, Deerfield Township, Warren County;196 married Robert Bowles, born April 1838;197 buried in Old Tidioute Cemetery where his stone (no dates reported) states he was in Company B, 88th Pennsylvania Infantry, G. A. R.198 The family lived in Deerfield Township, where Robert was a farmer.
Known children of Robert and Adelia (all born in Pennsylvania):199

(a) Hugh J. Bowles, born circa 1869.
(b) Mary J. Bowles, born December 1869; married Augustus E. McChesney, born January 1857 in Pennsylvania; the family was in Deerfield Township, Warren County in 1900 where Augustus was listed as a farmer. Children in 1900 were (i) Fred L. McChesney (twin), born June 1896; and (ii) Franklin E, McChesney, born June 1896 (twin); living next door to Augustus and Mary J. in 1900 was John McChesney, born July 1831 and Mary J. McChesney, born June 1832, both born in Pennsylvania; they were probably the parents of Augustus McChesney.
(c) Vincent A. Bowles, born circa 1871.
(d) Harvey L. (or Harry) Bowles, born circa 1873.
(e) Martha A. Bowles, born circa 1875.
(f) George C. Bowles, born 28 August 1876; died 12 September 1890, buried in Old Tidioute Cemetery, Warren County, Pennsylvania.
(g) Robert E. Bowles, born July 1878.
(h) Maude Bowles, born 17 February 1880; died 22 September 1881, buried in Old Tidioute Cemetery.
(i) Sherman Bowles, born 1 May 1883; married Myrtle Watson, born October 1888. Myrtle Watson was a daughter of Walter and Elizabeth [—?—] Watson, see #118 of the Watson web site for more information on this family.
(j) Laura M. Bowles, born March 1886.
(k) Marian Bowles, born May 1893 (note: assuming dates are correct, Adelia would have been circa 47 when Marian was born).

Samuel J. Morrison, born circa 1848. I believe he was the Jefferson Morrison, born circa 1849, enumerated near the dwellings of his parents and brother Hugh and sister Adelia Bowles in Deerfield Township in 1880.200 Jefferson’s wife was listed as Eunice [—?—], born circa 1853.
Child was
(a) Georgia Morrison, born circa 1869.

Thomas Edson Morrison, born December 1851; married J. Sarah [—?—], born September 1857 in Pennsylvania. The family lived in Deerfield Township, Warren County.201
They had at least two children:
(a) Ernest E. Morrison, born circa 1875 in Pennsylvania, married Gertrude [—?—], born circa 1877 in Pennsylvania; their child known from the 1910 federal census when the family was living in Tidioute, Pennsylvania, and Ernest was enumerated as a teamster was (i) Hester Morrison (daughter), born circa 1897 in Pennsylvania.202 The other known child of Thomas and Sarah Morrison was
(b) Franklin A. Morrison, born March 1879; listed as a laborer in 1900.

Ashbel Wilson Morrison, born circa 1861; married Mabel [—?—], born circa 1880 in Pennsylvania. In 1880, Ashbel was living with his parents in Deerfield Township, next to the household of Asbel's brother, Thomas Edson Morrison. In 1910, Ashbel and Mabel were living in Pleasantville, Pennsylvania, where Ashbel was enumerated as a motorman of a streetcar.203
Child of Ashbel and Mabel known from the 1910 federal census:
(a) L. Morrison, born circa 1902. In 1930, there was a Hubert L. Morrison, born circa 1901 in Pennsylvania (both parents born in Pennsylvania); living in Buffalo, New York, as a lodger in the household of Ethel Belledew, born in Canada. This Hubert L. was listed as a machinery salesman.204



11. ROBERT3 HUNTER MORRISON (Thomas2, Hugh1); born 8 August 1821; died 1892 in Tidioute, Deerfield Township, Warren County; married (first), 19 May 1853, MARIAH L. LINDSAY; married (second) CATHERINE I. RUTLEDGE (her married name by an earlier marriage), born circa 1842 in Pennsylvania. Robert was a prominent and influential citizen of Tidioute, Pennsylvania. He was elected a justice of the peace in 1858.205 In 1850, Robert, enumerated as a millwright, was living with his sister Elizabeth Courson and family in Deerfield Township.206

13. ISABELLA3 JANE MORRISON (Thomas2, Hugh1); born 2 January 1827; died 8 March 1899; married ROBERT D. MORRISON, who was a son of Joseph Morrison; hence a first cousin marriage—see Robert D. Morrison (#38) for sources and descendants.



18. NATHAN3 PARKE MORRISON (Thomas2, Hugh1); born 17 January 1836; died 3 April 1918; married (first) MARY ELLEN GILLESPIE, born circa 1843 in Pennsylvania; married (second) SARAH (WHITE) WILCOX, born October 1848 in Pennsylvania. Nathan was a farmer. In 1870, Nathan and family were living next door to his brother, Matthew, and his family.

Claud P. Morrison; born June 1877; married Golden D. [—?—], born circa 1888 in Ohio. Claud was enumerated as a railroad foreman in 1900, when he was still living with his parents.209 In 1920, Claud, Golden and family were living in Deerfield Township, Warren County, where Claud was listed as a farmer.210
